Pleasant Grove History
The site where our school is now located was once part of the Top Hand Ranch
across the street  on Green Valley Road, owned by Dianne and Rick Newborn.
The Top Hand Ranch currently runs a horse drawn carriage company in Old
Sacramento.  Before this, the property was owned by Mrs. Newborn's
grandparents, Red and Lillian Dixon.

Green Valley Road used to be the path for the old Pony Express.  The house
currently on the property was called Pleasant Grove House, and was a way
station for the Pony Express.  The house consisted of a 60ft ballroom and
rooms for rent for the riders or other travellers.

To the east of the school, you will see a small cemetery plot.  This belonged to
the Russ family who owned the property in the 1800's.
